List #72 - 5 things you can do when you feel like you have nothing to wear
Hi. Are you furious because you have NOTHING TO WEAR. Oh girl I have been there soooo many times (I was there yesterday actually). Have you traumatized your partner and/or entire family with your inconsolable frustration around your plentiful, yet somehow empty, wardrobe?
I am here to help. First of all, stop trying to buy something new. You have plenty of options. We’re going to to into your closet and figure it out.
Go into your closet and close your eyes. How do you want to FEEL?
It sounds simple but this is actually a life-changing task for me. The first thing to do is decide what do you want to feel like. Not what you want to wear, how to you want to FEEL?
I find that oftentimes people think about what they want to look like over how they want to feel in their outfit, and this is a huge problem. Do you want to feel like Olivia Pope strutting into her office? Or are you the Hailey Bieber cool-girl circa 2017?
Once you’ve decided how you want to feel, pull out everything that fits this vibe
You may have to do some mix and matching. But focus on what works with the sensation you want to achieve.
Try things on and go nuts with it. You most likely were still making the mistake of thinking about looks over feelings
Once you start trying on clothes and mixing and matching, you will quickly start t realize what you were actually going for was likely a totally different feeling. This is also the time when your family might start telling you to hurry up. Ignore them.

These women know style. Their outfits are unique and totally true to them. The reason I say Mary-Kate and Ashley is because they are the anti-perfect-outfit, Pinterest-ready-vibe. They embrace messiness and real personal style. They remove this idea that you have to have an “outfit”. They look amazing without everything feeling too tied together with a bow, and that makes it perfect.
Grab exactly what you want to wear, stop overthinking, put it on and go have fun
Your final outfit will most likely be the first thing you tried on, but its about the journey!
