List #89 - 5 ways to spend an hour on a Sunday

Some people love a Sunday. I have had a complicated relationship with Sundays, alternating between loving them for reset days and relaxation, and experiencing the crippling anxiety known as Sunday Scaries. In an effort to create a balm for soothing a stressful Sunday moment (or entire day), these are five ways to spend an hour on a Sunday that will make you feel more energized and refreshed, no matter your situation.

  1. 15 minute walk + matcha at your favorite coffee shop + croissant + everything shower

I add a little movement in different forms to each of these just to shake things out. Can be whatever you want it to be!

  2. Mini closet cleanout + yummy takeout for lunch + 2 episodes of your favorite show

Closet cleanout (make a donation pile as you go!) makes you feel productive, while also giving you new inspiration for weekday outfits, and the takeout is the reward!

  3. 15 minute workout (I use the Obé app) + grocery order + new podcast episode

I’ve been using Obé for years and its only gotten better. I love that they break workouts up into different time limits (I think the shortest is either 5 or 10 minutes and the longest is an hour!) and have different levels of difficulty. Its really easy to get something quick in every day, which is how I like it. Also put the podcast episode on while you’re putting your groceries away!

  4. 10 minute journal + online shopping + sweet treat

10 minute journal for mindfulness, plus a little online shopping and a croissant + cappuccino? What could be better?!

  5. 10 minute workout + glass of wine + olives and salty snacks + favorite show

This is a midday or evening version, and if you don’t drink, I recommend making a yummy beverage so you don’t miss out on that portion! Highly recommend this Agua Fresca recipe from New York Times Cooking.
