List #91 - 5 ways to spend a Friday night

If you were like me in 2018, your Friday night started at 6:30 with cocktails and lasted until 3:00 am with $1 pizza. I was living in New York City with my then-boyfriend, now husband, and our weekends were about as nonstop as our weeks. It was a lot of fun. Nowadays, however, after spending many Fridays having one type of fun, I’ve learned that variety can be just as enjoyable. Here are five different ways to spend a Friday night if you’re looking to shake things up.

  1. Classic games night at home with friends. Everyone brings one dish. Batch-make cocktails.

    Its cheaper than restaurant cocktails and wine. Bonus points if you have a super competitive group and things get heated. Use paper plates and napkins so cleanup is easy!

  2. Pizza night + face masks

    Everyone brings ingredients, face masks, and you supply dough and wine. Super easy. Yes, even guys get into this.

  3. Plan a trip together night

    Ensures the trip makes it out of the group chat if you plan it together! Plus, this way you can be super clear on budget, etc. Super important: make sure everyone comes with some ideas and can also compromise! Flexibility is key!

  4. Get your shit together night

    Doesn’t feel too bad to book appointments and do your taxes if you do them over drinks and appetizers!

  5. Dessert-only night + self-care + binge-watching a new show

    Start a new show none of you has seen! Bring more face masks and only serve dessert. Blood sugar be damned.
