List #49 - Things I do to avoid decision fatigue

  1. I wear these Intimissimi tops and layer sweaters almost every day.

Basics that feel good on my skin and look nice are key because I don’t feel sloppy when I don’t have time to get more creative with an outfit.

  2. I eat almost the same thing every morning.

Yogurt, eggs, and fruit. I also plan meals around certain ingredients that I know I can always have in the house. This way I’m never having to buy things last minute and think about what to have for dinner.

  3. Done is better than perfect (sometimes).

I work in social media so sometimes things just need to get done. A lot of times for clients I like to get them a first draft as quickly as possible so I can receive feedback sooner and iterate faster. The longer I wait and nitpick over a piece of content, the slower it will take to complete. This also leads to greater trust between clients and myself because we’re able to brainstorm together and learn from each other.

  4. The hardest thing needs to get done first.

Whether this is a long video that needs editing, or even checking my bank account, If I’m nervous to do it, that’s the first thing that gets done. When you know this, I promise you the decisionmaking process becomes clear.

  5. Cleaning happens after the work gets done.

Messy houses happen and stuff builds up. When it starts to feel overwhelming, and I can’t decide whether to clean now or later, I tell myself the work comes first and then I’ll allocate 30 minutes in the evening with a podcast to do the rest.
