List #50 - Things I do to make my home feel nicer, not prettier
Fruit bowls can be decor.
They make your home feel “alive”, but you don’t have to keep them alive like flowers or plants.
Candles burning (they do NOT have to be your prettiest candles or that Loewe candle IYKYK).
They just warm things up literally and figuratively.
Functional spaces with storage that looks nice.
Thinking of elevating something functional (like glass canisters over plastic ones) makes a home feel nice without feeling trendy or overly decorated.
Art.
I buy art from thrift stores and sometimes reframe cards.
Games.
We’re really into games like this massive Jenga set and playing cards and I always feel like this makes someones home feel more comfortable and fun.
